Tim uses an integrative approach in all four disciplines to enable clients to overcome barriers to self-fulfilment. His principal approach is through counselling and psychotherapy, offering different tools, techniques and perspectives to achieve transformational change. Hypnotherapy and coaching methods are used when appropriate. Barriers may be present as anxiety, stress, depression, sleep disorders, confidence/self esteem difficulties, emotional, family and relationship problems, physical or emotional trauma, problems relating to personal identity, or simply not knowing how to achieve particular goals. Often, clients want help in dealing with unwanted feelings of fear, confusion, anger, inadequacy, grief, panic, guilt, shame, inferiority, loss, separation, rejection, dependency or frustration. Mistaken beliefs, bereavement, assertiveness, bullying, children / adolescent problems and feelings of being "stuck" are common.

Hypnotherapy is also effective for identifying and resolving emotional causes for physical symptoms and dis-ease such as; obsessive-compulsive disorders, phobias, allergies, IBS, muscular pain, kidney stones, habit control, addictions, weight reduction and eating disorders.
Many clients have benefited from the use of transactional hypnoanalysis and conference room techniques to address deep-seated emotional conflicts and personality / motivation problems.
Individuals and organisations can benefit from coaching approaches that focus on the gap between potential and performance. The gap is usually filled with interference. This can be identified and cleared away.
All client relationships are founded in trust and commitment and Tim assumes that clients are fundamentally creative, resourceful and whole, he addresses the client's whole life, follows the client's agenda and creates an agreed alliance, building on the clients' strengths and insights about themselves.
There is an expectancy of transformational change with clear attainable goals. The work undertaken is the choice and responsibility of the client, understanding that resistance and defences are an integral part of the process.
Tim trained with the School of Analytical and Cognitive Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (SACH) and now provides tuition for SACH Diploma and Advanced courses. He has also trained with Penny Parks (Parks Inner Child Therapy), Gil Boyne, Anita Hall (Professional People Development) and David Quigley (Alchemical Hypnotherapy Institute) and provides services and workshops for individuals and organisations across the UK and Eire.

People are not treated by the state of hypnosis - people are treated in the state of hypnosis.
Hypnosis is used for exactly the same purpose each and every time it is induced: to gain access to the powerful inner mind, the non-critical sub-conscious.
The use of hypnosis is a drug-free process of quietening down that part of the mind that constantly "talks" to us. Hypnosis can be induced in many different ways but the most common method is by the therapist guiding the client's imagination through gentle imagery of calmness and peace which, combined with the use of visualisation, produces a profound sense of relaxation and concentration.
Once the hypnotic trance has been achieved, the therapist and the client are able to enjoy direct access to the sub-conscious mind. The client is very much aware of what is being said and, on many occasions, has more awareness of many aspects of their own mind that would otherwise be blocked out by the daily "chatter".
Everything about us begins as a thought. This produces an action. When we change
the thought, we change the action.
Once hypnosis is induced, the power of the subconscious mind is used to focus
on new thoughts, words and images and to establish new habits, attitudes and
behaviours. Using hypnosis, focussing on the required changes becomes easy and
continued reinforcement becomes automatic response.
This form of therapy can produce outstanding results for people whose symptoms arise from deep-seated emotional or psychological origins. Analysis discovers the originating cause i.e. that which is producing the effect.
The sub-conscious mind has stored all thoughts and experiences since birth. Only some of these are available as conscious memories, others remain hidden and can cause unwanted feelings and behaviours in later life. Using hypnosis, the cause can be viewed safely by the now mature and experienced conscious mind which enables a change in the present response - thereby allowing the symptom to be dealt with and permanently resolved.
This powerful therapy is used to treat many persistent conditions still defying conventional medicine and has enormous potential for millions of people. It is a wholly natural healing method that speeds up or triggers the body's own healing process. The sub-conscious knows what is needed for the body to be healed, it simply needs guiding to the right area of the body. Only a general indication of the possibilities can be given here and there are no guarantees but the success rate is surprisingly high. In some cases, a short analysis may be required if the condition is considered to be of psychological / emotional origin. Clients considering this therapy should exhaust all avenues of conventional medicine first.
