Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the systematic use of Fragrant, Therapeutic Essential oils in holistic treatments that seeks to improve physical and emotional well-being. Essential oils, extracted from plants are known to possess distinctive therapeutic properties, which may be utilised to improve health and prevent disease.

The most used method involves these natural plant oils, blended in a carrier oi,l being applied by massage. Other common applications are the use of these oils in Facial treatments, Baths, Candles and Oil Burners. An essential oil is an aromatic, volatile substance extracted from a single botanical source normally by distillation or expression.

Essential oils have been utilised in fragrances, flavours and medicines for thousands of years and there are some 400 different oils extracted from plants all over the world.

As with all treatments, a full consultation should be completed with your therapist to ensure that aromatherapy is right for you. Many people rely on Aromatherapy to relieve symptoms of common physical problems as well as emotional and mental disorders such as anxiety, stress or depression.
